Road transport is used for the transport of goods and passengers, mainly over short and medium distances. It has a leading position in the volume of freight and passenger transport.

The organization of consignments transported by full truckload consists in the forwarder choosing a suitable means of transport based on the conditions specified by the consignor, i.e., consignment dimensions, weight, volume. In the case of full truckload shipping, the entire cargo is transported in one means of transport, which is selected by the forwarder according to the consignor’s conditions to ensure the most important conditions of transport. These are speed, efficiency, and price of transport.

International road transport is transport where the points of departure and destination are located in the territory of two different states, or transport where the points of departure and destination are located in the territory of the same state, but part of the journey takes place in the territory of another state.

International transport is carried out based on the Convention on the Contract for the International Carriage of Goods by Road known as the CMR.

The proof of concluding the contract according to the CMR Convention is the international consignment note. The consignment note is filled in by the consignor and confirmed by the carrier or forwarder. The carrier can note their reservations and remarks in the box reserved for this purpose in the consignment note. The carrier is responsible for complete or partial loss, or for damage to the consignment from its receipt until delivery to the authorized consignee.
